This beautiful piece had been subjected the the very popular trend 20yrs ago of Lime washing your antique furniture. The finish on it when we received it was very warn and required a very delicate method of slowly hand sanding to remove the lime wash finish but not effect the upholstery or intricate carvings. We finished with a traditional french polish in a traditional dark stain to enhance the grain and carvings..
Mid Victorian Mahogany Tilt top Table- Full restoration
This table was rescued from the brink of extinction were it had been sitting under the clients house for many years exposed to the elements and slowly perishing. The table was a family heirloom and the client had decided to rescue the table. As you can see from the photos it was a huge job rebuilding and bringing this table back to life. It had extensive structural and veneer work to be done and there was little to no polish left. But it was a job worth doing and the clients were thrilled to pieces with the end result.
