Pictured above is a Highly detailed inlay top of a Victorian burl walnut veneered tilt top dinning table before and after restoration by palliaer antiques.
Pictured below is the details of a repair carried out on a small section of the inlay and veneer work.
First the missing veneer is replaced, then the channels for the inlay are carved out and the string inlay replaced. Finally the repair site has a slight cut back of the finish and then the polish id re-rubbed back on.
Pictured above is an exquisite drop front desk after restoration by Palliaer Antiques.
Pictured below is a closer look at the micro-veneer work carried out to the key hole of the drop front of the desk. This kind of veneer repair is extremely difficult and requires a great deal of expertise to do successfully.
